In this video, we’ll take a look at how the general website development process looks like here at Atlantis Creative Studios. The overall number of development stages usually varies, but every time the whole picture stays pretty much the same. (P2 & P3-folder)
Here are the seven main steps: 1) Information Gathering, 2) Planning and Design, 3) Content creation, 4) Coding, 5) Testing and Review 6) Launch, 7) Maintenance.
Now that we've outlined the process, let's dig a bit deeper into each stage. (P2 & P3-folder)
1) Information Gathering
The most important task at this point is to get the clear understanding of your future website purposes, main goals, and the target audience you want to attract to your site.
This is the most important part of any web design process. Because it, determines how the subsequent stages will look like. Here we determine:
1) The right hosting if you don’t have one
2) Who your audience are
3) Pages and features the site requires
4) Whether your website’s primary aim is to inform, to sell, or to amuse
5) Timeline for building
6) The final budget
Once we know the site's goals, we define the scope of the project.

2) Planning and design
Based on the information we gathered on stage one, we create page layouts and sitemap. This will give you an opportunity to judge how the entire site will look like. (Web-designs-collections-folder-DESIGN WEB)
A Page layout, is arrangement of visual elements on a page. They allow you to understand how information will be aesthetically presented on your website.

While a sitemap allows you to understand how the inner structure of a website looks like. It describes the relations and navigation between main areas of your website. (Web-designs-collections-folder-SITE MAP)
3) Content creation
Now that we have a bigger picture of the site in mind, we start creating content for the individual pages. At this phase we put in writing the very essence you’d like to communicate to audience of your website. Content writing involves creation of catching headlines, text editing, writing new text, compiling existing text, Search Engine Optimization, call to action etc., (2_Content creation-folder)
We start creating the website itself. Graphic elements and content that have been created during the previous stages are used to create an actual website. Usually, the home page is created first, and then all sub-pages are added, according to the sitemap we created. Frameworks and Content Management System are also implemented. (building website and Coding-folders)
5) Testing and review
By now, all pages and systems are in place, so it's time to make sure it all works. We combine manual browsing of the site on a variety of devices with automated site crawlers to identify everything from user experience issues to broken links. We check every form, every script, and run a spell-checking software to find possible typos. (Web-designs-collections-folder-SEARCH BUG)
Now it’s time for everyone’s favourite part of the web design process: When everything has been thoroughly tested, and you’re happy with the site, it’s time to launch.
We upload it to a hosting web server. We run yet another final test to be sure the website is running well with the hosting web server. (Web-designs-collections-folder-START UP APPLICATION)
What’s important to remember is that a website is more a service than a product.
The launch stage is nowhere near the end of the job. Once the site goes live, we continually run user testing on new content and features, monitor analytics, and refine your messaging. (Web-designs-collections-folder-SETTING SYSTEM)
